Has been a bit slow, perhaps some questions are in order.
Here's a bit of an explanation of my mindset when I set out to get onto this particular board/blog/page thing.
"Wow! Car people who aren't obsessed with Gran Turismo! That could be cool."
Up to that point the only forum I was an active member of was GTPlanet, which I had recently become bored of. (They seem to not like people over here)
I of course searched for a way to join, but no dice. I googled it, and found what I think was a moderator post about writing a comment if you wanted to join, so I did.
I set out imagining that I would be this super-trendy, up-and-coming car writer, since my passion for this stuff runs pretty deep, and none of my friends are really into cars and stuff. "Ah! I can channel that into my writing! I AM a good writer after all."
I hit a barrier when I realized that the time I spent writing on here would be better used studying for college, so the quality dropped considerably.
Anyway, I noticed that when I write poorly, noone bothers to read or comment, so I figured I'd look around at what works and what doesn't. Sadly, the examples of people who "Write" about cars are few and far between, and it seems that they are already well-established (Doug DeMuro). Any hints? Ideas? I'm a college student, so my vehicle access isn't large, and neither is my wallet.
Cheers.

wallet and vehicle access need not be an issue, take a look at the regular car reviews folks, or any or the rental car reviews folks have done on here. the cars aren't special, but the reviews can be interesting none the less.
also, pictures. drag us in with pics :D

what do you take in college. Could that be worked in somehow. You don't have to always review cars. You could just do research in to certain cars events or whatever else. Try writing about something others don't. Then again I rarely make lengthy posts and mostly incoherent at that so there's that when you listen to me.

This is something I struggle with as well. It's easy to watch new posts by more frequent authors pop up every minute and gather clicks and comments while yours slides further and further down the page and out of sight.
But we can't give up! Try to allow yourself to be more open with your opinions. I know I have a tendency to think that mine are irrelevant, so I stop myself from sharing them. Instead I should put a little more effort into fleshing them out and making them worthy of discussion.

I've only got an iPhone 5 at the moment. I had stolen my father's DSLR for a while but he's since repo-d it! I'll try though.
